About Archer Sky Coaching
At the height of my PR career in 2020 I was Vice President overseeing Corporate Communications for major media brands at NBCUniversal - Bravo, E!, Oxygen and Universal Kids. Prior to this I oversaw initiatives like The Real Housewives, Below Deck, BravoCon and even the NYC press office for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. I also managed to obtain an MBA while working on these endeavors full-time.
In hindsight I am incredibly proud of what I accomplished in my 13-year tenure at NBC not to mention the previous years I had spent in healthcare Comms. Nevertheless, I couldn’t deny the pull I was starting to feel to move on with my career. Questions like, “What is driving me?” and “Why am I no longer passionate about this work?” nagged at me persistently. Unfortunately, my professional awakening happened simultaneously to the global pandemic and to a recent house-move while juggling a toddler at home. The weight of these concurrent changes took a toll on my mental health and ultimately resulted in burnout.
Taking my fate into my own hands, in 2021 I took a leap of faith and made the difficult (and much advised-against) decision to leave my role at the peak of my corporate career and take a break to recover and reflect on why everything felt so unaligned. What followed was a year-long journey of self-exploration and deep inner work. I dissected the relationship I had with my career and began to re-evaluate my values, my lifestyle, and how I wanted my career to fit into my life. This was vulnerable and occasionally uncomfortable work, but it was worth it. Not only my career but more importantly, my life, transformed completely when I realized that what moves me is encouraging people to love their lives, starting with their career.
I realized that I had been informally career coaching for years – prepping friends for interviews, advising peers on how to land promotions, and encouraging relatives to leave jobs in which they were miserable. I had been doing it all along, so I decided to make a career out of it! We all deserve fulfilling careers that align with our values and who we are. I help my clients realize that vision.
